Wild About Books

Title: Wild About Books
Author: Judy Sierra
Illustrator: Marc Brown
Copyright date: 2004

The book is very interesting because it talks about a librarian who drove into a zoo and started to read to the animals. The animals liked the reading so much that they decided to start reading on their own. After they conquered that they started writing their own books. After they wrote the books the librarian asked them what they would like to do with them and they said.................... Please pick up the book to find out what they did with the books.

The book is very useful when someone is looking to introduce books into the classroom. It can show children that they can listen to someone read, they can read on their own or they can write their own books or stories. It gives them an imagination and can use creative as well as imagination skills. If they are writing the books it can use critical, brainstorming and many otehr skills. The way this book included the animals and how they also like to read should bring in many young children closer to books.

This sounds like a very inspirational book for young children. Children might feel inspired to read books on their own and not just in the classroom. It sounds like a great book for the classroom, I hope to check it out when I get a chance.
